Written By: Stephen Baughn Just this morning I ventured over to ESPN.Com to find an article written by Jemele Hill titled "Same ol' song, sadly, from Tiger Woods". I understand the media thinks they really don't have much else to talk about. However, I would like to make points that reject that theory. In this article, Mr. Hill speaks of the car crash that started the whole chain of events. Are we really still going there? Do you know how many single car accidents happen at night every single night? Haven't we been told that most car accidents happen within five miles of the home? So he is arguably the most popular athlete in the world, why does anybody seriously care about his single car accident? Secondly, I view that as a personal matter. I do not care how the FHP handled his single car accident just outside of his home. It is trivial nonsense that needs to be lost in our minds. |

Written By: Stephen Baughn There are always going to be supporters and detractors to every situation in life. If you are like me, then you are really just sick of hearing about the whole Tiger Woods situation. In addition, you might have also found Tiger’s “press conference” rather dictator like. His refusal to speak unless his demands and requirements were met, reminded me very much of Castro in Cuba, Amadinijead in Iran and others. While he is the one speaking, and has his choice to speak or not to speak, a right in this country, if he was really interested in opening up, he would have spoke and allowed everyone to attend. |

Written by: Jerad Merbitz Well, it has been nearly 3 months since Tiger Woods crashed his SUV outside his home on Thanksgiving night. As we all know, he wasn’t rushing out to be first in line on Black Friday, he was trying to leave his home to avoid “discussions” with his wife about his alleged mistresses. The allegations, following that night, regarding Tiger Woods and his personal life have created a media circus that dwarfs even news from our ongoing war in Iraq/Afghanistan. Why you might ask? Because the American public is obsessed with celebrities and the lives they live. In Tiger’s case, the picture he painted for himself portrayed him to be the most honest, hard working, loving, and family man on the planet. He had his priorities with religion and family firmly in place. As with most things that appear to be perfect, things are not always as they seem, and for Tiger, all the skeletons fell out of the closet at once. |

By: Stephen Baughn It was just last week that I addressed a growing trend among many golf courses. That trend for all intents and purposes does not single out one particular golf course. In fact, it is a growing trend among many golf courses that are poorly managed and simply out of touch with reality. You will see below with Duran Golf's commitment to our Service Personnel with their new discount program that some courses are truly trying to stay in touch with reality. |

Written by: Stephen Baughn In a time when the golf market has been in a down spin over the last few years, it is increasingly imperative that golf courses recognize this fact and adjust. Those courses that are able to successfully realize that they are no longer invincible will be the courses that outlast this turbulence in the market. For the purposes of this article and for the fact that this is the holidays the course in question here will remain nameless. In addition, I will provide alternatives to the negative to show you, the reader and the paying golfer, that there are alternatives to the "smugness" that follows some courses. |
